Mohnish Pabrai discusses three mental models in the spirit of Charlie Munger’s latticework of mental models in a lecture to the University of Puerto Rico MBA students in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The three models include: · The Power of Truth: Commit to candor, however painful or uncomfortable it may be. Being relentlessly truthful (and avoiding “white lies”) will strengthen your relationships with those around you in the long run. · Compounding is the 8th Wonder of the World: Resist the temptation to pull money out of compounding accounts like 401(k)s; instead, leave them and let them compound over the longest runways possible. · Dhandho Entrepreneurship: Take advantage of extracurricular time at your full-time job to first test your start-up ideas before quitting ...

HJ Sims Senior Vice President and Director of Credit Analysis Richard ‘Dick’ Larkin and FBN’s Charlie Gasparino discuss the impact that Puerto Rico’s debt crisis could have on the U.S. economy. Watch Charlie Gasparino and Liz Claman talk about Latin America on Closing Bell.
It's been months since Hurricane Maria decimated the island of Puerto Rico and since that time most people on the island have been without power and access to safe drinking water. It is because of this that many of the schools on the island remain closed. With no way for the children to safely consume water classes simply cannot resume. Operation Blessing is working throughout the region to not only provide safe water to families but also to make sure school, like Las Mareas, are able to provide their students with safe drinking water. Now the kids can get back in the classroom and receive the education they so desperately need.
In which John Green teaches you about Imperialism. In the late 19th century, the great powers of Europe were running around the world obtaining colonial possessions, especially in Africa and Asia. The United States, which as a young country was especially suceptible to peer pressure, followed along and snapped up some colonies of its own. The US saw that Spain's hold on its empire was weak, and like some kind of expansionist predator, it jumped into the Cuban War for Independence and turned it into the Spanish-Cuban-Phillipino-American War, which usually just gets called the Spanish-American War. John will tell you how America turned this war into colonial possessions like Puerto Rico, The Philippines, and almost even got to keep Cuba. The US was busy in the Pacific as well, wresting contr...
In which John Green talks about the many revolutions of Latin America in the 19th century. At the beginning of the 1800s, Latin America was firmly under the control of Spain and Portugal. The revolutionary zeal that had recently created the United States and had taken off Louis XVI's head in France arrived in South America, and a racially diverse group of people who felt more South American than European took over. John covers the soft revolution of Brazil, in which Prince Pedro boldly seized power from his father, but promised to give it back if King João ever returned to Brazil. He also covers the decidedly more violent revolutions in Mexico, Venezuela, and Argentina. Watch the video to see Simón Bolívar's dream of a United South America crushed, even as he manages to liberate a bunch of...

The US government is not doing all it can to help the people of Puerto Rico. They are restricting the help that Puerto Rico could receive by not relaxing the Jones Act to allow ships of other countries to deliver help based out of the US to Puerto Rico. That wasn't the case when help was needed in Texas or Florida. I wonder why? Donald Trump doesn't even know where Puerto Rico is located or that its citizens are Americans.

He also took a few of our add-on systems; headlight renewal, windshield repair and odor removal courses. He has a lot to say in his review of the paintless dent training he received from us.
